Just like the three mirrors that make up the internal chambers of these optical instruments to create an ever-changing picture, our Kaleidoscope series combines three different hops to create a seasonally evolving flavour profile. Whilst the hops change, our intention remains the same - to create a beer that is harmonious, bright and refreshing.

L- Murky brown, with a 5mm fine white head that is holding unsually well (ps. holds the whole way down the glass - most unusual!).
S- It has a contemporary nose to it, fruits, lychee and mild citrus.
T- Fresh and bright, fast into some citrus flavours and then a hoppy dry twist at the finish.
F- Refreshing, on the hoppy/dry side of things but thankfully not a gratuitous hop-hammer of a pale ale.
O- 'A contemporary pale ale for grown-ups'. The lychee/citrus are certainly contemporary, the restraint within a good overall balance seems less common. I don't go for beers that taste of exotic fruits, preferring beer that tastes beery; but if I were and favoured considered added fruit notes then this might win me over.
Bought from Waitrose London, 330ml bottle/£2.10 BB: 13/01/2020.
ps. Noting below how the hops used vary by batch I checked the bottle. This one^ was batch166 bottled on 13/06/19.

A good effort on a good idea, but not great in either characteristic.
Kaleidoscope's idea of changing up the hop mixture might work on a seasonal basis so, in this case, one would get a different tasting pale based on the season. But my understanding is hops are driven more by the market and not the season... so customers may have a different experience each time. This may reduce repeats.
I must say that Kaleidoscope's label and simple marketing Looks better than the pale... which is an unappetizing murk.
Smells are much better. The tropical hops and the malt really put on an aromatic show. Tastes carry that show, except the bitter hops eventually bother me. But, it still refreshing in the mouth... I just don't think I'll finish due to the after-taste.
I went on Wiper & True's website and I like their clean look. But as is the nature of British crafting, they are one of many home brewers under five years as a business. Yet, they should bring enough joy to Bristol so locals keep coming back for the beer and the food truck. A nice gathering spot, I'm sure.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Jan 2019 (bottled June 2018). ABV is stated as 4.2%. Acquired recently from Waitrose. Described on the label as a pale ale created with a trio of hop varieties that change with the seasons. This is batch 94; hopped with Simcoe, Ekuanot and Amarillo.
A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A rich, hazy amber hue with good carbonation and fine suspended sediment. Produces a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of bright, fruity hops with hints of lemon, citrus zest, peel, white grape, berries, grass, subtle spice, ale yeast, pale malt and faint earthiness. Superb.
T: Tastes of intensely fruity hops with notes of aromatic citrus, peel, white grape, gooseberries, grass/hay, spice, ale yeast, earthiness and pale malt. Pretty dry, followed by a crisp, hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body for the style. Lightly astringent; dries the palate. Aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, citrus, mild bitterness, ale yeast and faint malt.
O: Excellent - a top notch effort from W&T. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are crammed with fruity aromatic hops underpinned by ale yeast and subtle malt. Nice body. Goes down a treat; a delight for the senses. Well worth sampling if you have the chance.

500ml bottle, unfined, unfiltered, unpasteurised and alive. Careful pour to retain sediment in the bottle. Hazy, bronze colour with a thin, bright white head and sheets of lacing. Nose is fresh, sharp and citrusy (tangerines). Heaps of citra, mosaic & rakau hops offer a mix of light, tropical fruit and earthy, pine flavours. Body is watery despite moderate carbonation and a bitter finish. This is a dry, low ABV, American-style pale ale. Soft & refreshing with heaps of spicy flavour but a disappointing, flat mouthfeel.

This an APA and not an IPA.
The smell is great with mango, pineapple, grapefruit. A real fruit mix. The taste is much more restraint but balanced. Good malts and good grapefruit and cut grass. Juicy mouthfeel

Keg Kong's, Bristol - Pours cloudy golden with a medium white foamy head. Medium carbonation. Nice lacing. Smell - citrus/tropical fruits to the fore, light floral notes in background. Taste - Fruity foretaste with a crisp bitter finish. Another nice easy drinking IPA from W and T.
