Our Omniscient Imperial Stout aged in one off Woodford Reserve Chocolate Rye barrels. We then added cocoa nibs, vanilla beans and Colombian coffee beans from Makers and Finders Coffee.

Deep brown beer with creamy tan head. Lots of coffee and some campfire smoke in the nose, along with typical stout aromas. Whiskey is faint, but is there. Flavors are good for an Imperial stout, but there is coffee at the forefront again, and Bourbon is almost nonexistent. Mouthfeel hits all the right notes for a Imperial Stout. If this was advertised as a coffee or smoked stout it would be a great one, but it’s disappointing as a BBA stout because of the restrained whiskey character.
