Visited with my family for lunch. Beer was OK at best, food was OK at best. I liked the location. Service was fine.

This place is always packed, I see some saying it is tourist, but it seems a lot of locals love this place. Every time I pass by it it is packed. Went here one night after work with friends and we had to sit downstairs as the outside area was packed. They bring out a plate of larded bread when you sit down, tried a bite, but I was full from just haven eaten. Every beer I had was good, the Dunkel was the best. Might have to go back and try out the food

 

 

Can anyone tell me if it is customary NOT to wash steins and glasses after they are used in a beer hall in Poland? I have traveled to over 30 countries and I have never seen This in person. Went to the Spiz in Wroclaw and sat at the bar. After half my beer I noticed they were collecting the used glasses and stacking by the taps, refilling new beer orders WITHOUT washing the glasses, Half filled glasses were simply topped off and sent out . It took me 20 minutes to to believe what I was seeing was actually occurring. Re-using glasses without washing them? I was not alone and after we sat in amazement, quickly paid and left. Is this common or just criminal? Anyone with similar experience ( and I hope not) please post.

This pub is a nice local pub seemingly mainly for tourists but it is what it is. There is a beer garden during the summer which is quite nice as the weather in Poland is very mild during the fall time. The beers were good, a selection of 5-6. I had their caramel beer and their weizen and they were alright. Slightly too warm for me personally, but overall not bad. Little expensive for Poland but like I mentioned, mainly for tourists it feels. Overall I would certainly recommend a visit to Spiz if you are visiting in Wroclaw, it is located right in the market square underneath the old town hall so great atmosphere. The language barrier was not that difficult really. One waiter could speak some english.

I visited this brewpub on a recent trip to Poland. It's located in the very center of the town, in the old historic market square. The main establishment is actually in the basement of the town hall. There's also a beer garden located outside, with plenty of tables under an awning. The inside was dark and cozy, and the music was fairly loud. I was there in the middle of the week, and the establishment was packed with people. The beer selection was average. They had a wheat beer, pale lager, dark lager, strong beer, and a honey flavored beer. I really enjoyed the dark lager, which had a wonderful maltiness and caramel flavor. The service was okay, although it's difficult to rate, since there was a serious language difference. Having just eaten before arriving, I didn't try the food, but the smells were fantastic. To me, if you're in Wroclaw, this seems like it is a must-visit for a beer lover.
