Vaughn’s Peanut Butter is an English Porter with a twist. Chocolate and black patent malts are the backbone, with Munich and carapils malts added for a slight sweetness, better mouth feel, and head retention. Style-specific hops impart a nice, but not overpowering bitterness. Natural peanut butter is added to the boil, which gives the beer a nutty and smooth flavor.

Draft pour into a shaker style glass at the brewery.
(Nitro) Tin Canon is currently listing this one at 7.2%
L: Dark brown, caramel highlights, large and very persistent tan head, too slick to leave any lace.
S: Light roast, peanut shells, boiled peanuts, not appetizing.
T: Similar to the nose, some roast and chocolate malt sweetness underneath an earthy peanut shell/boiled peanut flavor, not manifesting as peanut butter flavor, slightly sharp overall.
F: Watery thin feel from the nitro but not the velvety smoothness, not crisp or soft, kind of a neutral feel.
O: A bit of a mess, this one got some good ratings back in 2015, I don’t know if this batch is that much different or if it’s just my palate.

The best beer I've had from Tin Cannon. Yeah, there's intense peanut butter action going on here, but this is no gimmick beer -- it is an outstanding porter that will have you coming back for more. Great peanut butter flavor and smells without being overwhelming. Chocolate malt gives some good background chocolate flavor, but the peanut butter flavor is what shines; this is not a chocolate/peanut butter porter. Low head retention, not a problem unless you like drinking foam. Sweet beer, slightly toasty flavor. Smooth finish and righteous aftertaste leaves you wanting more. Fill your growler with this, but remember that the carbonation is not high, which is all the more reason to finish the growler in one sitting! I'm told it's pretty good with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. I'd really like to try this one on nitro.

From a growler, pours a murky dark brown color with a little light getting throw, thin head, very still.
The smell is peanut shells, salt, a little chocolate but not tons. The taste has alot more chocolate, peanut butter, roasted malt. The flavors are muted and seem to muddle against each other versus playing off of each other. It has a nice finish, but this is a bit boring for this gimmick type of beer.
