Our brewers have always been jealous of Europeans for having primary access to this amazing unfiltered lager style. We add a touch of rye to spice things up. What flows out of the fermenter is a full bodied hoppy unfiltered lager with balanced bitterness and a clean finish. We will see you in the beer garden. Prost!

On tap at the brewery. Look is gold and slight haze. For an unfiltered lager, I thought it would be more cloudy. Smell is yeast and white bread. Taste is basic lager, grains and yeast, mild hop bite. Also a slight metallic taste. Feel is fine. Overall a decent brew, but the style isn't in my wheelhouse.

The phenix lager is a good beer and worth a try. It poured a hazy golden with white head that left some lace. The scent was faint and carried bread tones. The taste was a nice lager with biscuit base and Slight grass like hints. The Mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

Not a helles as indicated, but an incredible unfiltered Zwickel. Go get some now, fresh from the tanks at the brewery near McCormick Place in Chicago.
