Here's yet another beer from the dipa fest last month. I basically aim to try every new brewery there, new beers, old faves etc. This was a new brewery to me. Let's do this commie review shall we? Oh yeah, and I added the beer to this Next Glass database, and now I'm writing a review as well, you're welcome.gif.
Pours golden, not dark golden, relatively the bright kind. Great can artwork despite this being sampled on tap. Smells like the ubiquitous hop combo of Mosaic and Citra. It works. Passion fruit, weed, tangerine.
The taste hits slightly different. Simcoe pushing some good weight. A stronger bitterness and and booziness in the mouthfeel. The taste hits more of a citric rind now. Aroma was flesh. Malt bill stays pretty inoffensive and light, which was the style at the time, much like tying an onion for a belt. Guessing Simcoe is the biggest quantity of hops used. Not a slight. This one brings the ibu wars redux but without all the crystal malt.
