these guys are making some great beers, and i look forward to trying new stuff from them every single time i go to kansas city. this is a fun little saison, interesting on the yeast side, rustic and even funky without being bretty or wild, and yeast driven almost entirely without being overtly belgian or anything, nicely done, and very easy drinking being so dry and effervescent. hazy and super pale from the tap, with an inch of white head on it, it doesnt have quite the brightness in color of some other saisons, but it looks lively for sure. aroma shows really light pale wheat malt, a pils type barley as well, crackery and crisp, and then the yeast, which has subtle white wine and hay elements to it, but also a little citrus acidity building, very pleasant. the taste matches the nose really well too, short of tangy but refreshing and juicy for a moment before it dries out, light belgian esters too, the pale cereal malt, and a big whoosh of carbonation to close it out. really drinkable and light and summery saison, but full of flavor. a balanced and well made beer, id like to see them do more of this kind of thing...
