a cool version of this excellent base beer, done with cinnamon sticks, cocoa nibs, and coffee from honduras. its desserty and awesome, and there are a few things to really like about it. one is that is has no vanilla or chili in it, at least thats advertised or evident, its mellow and not spiced to oblivion, not trying to be another famous beer, and just sort of cruising at its own speed, comfortable in its skin, and i respect that a lot. the cinnamon is strong in this, both in aroma and flavor, natural and spicy and earthy rather than decadent or desserty, and the bitter rather than sweet chocolate element adds to that vibe, which is the right one for a beer north of 12% abs that i can hardly set down. you have to like the hot cinnamon, because its not subtle, but its well balanced by all the dark roast on this, and the coffee is fresh and pretty bold too, its not too much as there is somehow balance in the bigness. lots of bitterness, some smoke, some natural chocolate all dark and earthy, and this warm almost festive cinnamon, really cool beer, and an oddly good compliment to some colorado bbq! of the three variants they had on of this, i think i like this one the best, the coffee rules, and the boldness is unique. nicely done here.
