Coconut Cream Puff Imperial Milk Stout

a bit much for me, toasted coconut and vanilla in this edition, incredibly sweet, and a small pour sipper only as far as i am concerned. i liked the bitterness of the coffee and cocoa nibs in the mexican version, and the cinnamon was awesome asan intense flavor element, but the vanilla here seems too much, almost makes this too much like dessert, way more malt sweetness than i picked up in that other one, and honestly a bit more than i want. the coconut is natural and tasty, but with the sugar its a lot, and as much as this tastes good, they would have done well to ferment it drier, get some contrasting rye malt spice in the mix via the mash, drop the vanilla, or do something else to offset some of that sugar. the base stout is excellent, and the coconut compliments it well, but the rest of it is over the top decadent for me, and i taste more booze here too than i did in the others. enjoyable, but only in small doses. possibly my least favorite of the three versions they has on while we were in, although i like the coconut with the dark grain a lot. its cool that these guys are pushing in a new direction here though, they have stagnated a little bit, so this is a nice shot in the arm. some will love it, but overall it was too sweet for me to want more than a little bit of...
