cocoa, vanilla, house roasted and candied pecans, this is a decadent drink, surprisingly well balanced, somewhat less absurdly sugary than some of the other variants of this, and really pretty good, maybe not quite as compelling as the cinnamon one, but very solid. i like how much of the pecan comes through, its robust, earthy, and not necessarily desserty, which i like, complex for sure, and i think the vanilla and cocoa are not overdone, both very natural here. the pecan element is uniquely forward, and its great with the vanilla, smooth and sweet and identifiable. the base stout here is also solid, and thats evident as well, full bodied, super smooth, a little bit of booziness but quite a mellow vibe. this is a sipper and a sharer, but the quality is awesome, and i think the pecans really make it unique. it definitely has a pie flavor, i think more true to the stated mission than the other variants of this were. it would be killer in a bourbon barrel, i hope they held some back for that. nice to see these guys continuing to experiment a little bit, this was a rad little series of stouts!
