Gifted a fresh growler by Shawn.
No preconceptions.
Poured a beautifully plumy white head topping a clear golden straw colored body. Looked like a really nice Pilsner.
But nose, taste and body were all Cream Ale.
Nose was fragrant with light biscuit scent.
Taste was more strongly malty, hints of corn and lighty hopped. Body was creamy smooth with background bright carbonation. Wonderfully light and bright but also so smooth … all together a really nice drinkable brew. Much more for sessioning in a pub than just another hot weather lawnmower beer
Thinking fondly of 50 years past when Bill Murphy would pour same day kegged super fresh Genessee Cream Ale at the Lotus Lodge.
Those beers when fresh were an epiphany of how strikingly good a super fresh, fragrant and smooth a cream ale could be.
Can’t favorably compare to the brews I love today … spontaneous wild ales, big BA RIS’s; huge IPAs
But in its style I think this is a marvelous Cream Ale that suggests Knucklehead brewer team know their craft. Well done!

I don't know whether it's the spelling of this beer's name that makes me think of donuts, but the flavor is nice and creamy just like a glazed donut. Cream ales don't usually get anyone excited but this is an exceptional example.
