Out of Seitz's is a Scotch Ale at 7.5% ABV. It is a strong, full-bodied ale with a sweet, malty backbone, and a deep burnished garnet color. The mild hopping enhances its slight toasted character. Be careful with this one, it goes down very smooth.

On tap at Knucklehead Craft Brewing in Webster, NY.
This one pours a dark purplish-brown, with a small head, and no lacing.
Smells slightly smoky, with some peat, raisins and other dark fruits, and toffee.
This was the best of the beers that I tried at this new brewery. The smoke level is present, but pleasant, lending a campfire-type feel to the proceedings. There's some caramel, toffee, and some dried dark fruit character as well. Pretty delicious.
This is medium bodied, with a moderate level of carbonation, and a slick mouthfeel.
A pretty solid, if unspectacular scotch ale.
