On tap at Swiftwater Brewing Company in Rochester, NY.
Pours a golden light yellow, with a one inch head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells quite deliciously yeasty, with banana and clove, and that classic fruity Belgian character that comes along with this style of saison. It seems like it'll be follow the classic blueprint of Saison Dupont, rather than the more funkier American farmhouses.
This is probably the best beer they had upon opening. They nailed a strong yeast character without making it too overwhelming. There's a bit of banana and clovey-east, with some hay and grass, and a good amount of citrusy hops. The grassiness keeps the beer pretty dry. This is about 8% or so, which is amazing, because it doesn't feel that strong. The flavor certainly pops like it's that high, but there's no alcohol presence.
This is medium bodied, with a crisp, bready, and yeasty mouthfeel. There's a fairly high level of carbonation. The beer is quite drinkable.
Another example of why these guys have great potential. Really nice beer here.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
