Honey amber with an opalescent glow and murky haze (SRM 8-9). A thin, fine, foam head leaves rings of lace on an Offer glass.
The aroma is reminiscent of herbal soap. Light funkiness offsets lemon and tart apricot, punctuated by lavender. Generally earthy and autumnal.
The flavor opens with dehydrated apricot. Caramel sweetness balances a light bitterness, while a faint, almost imperceptible sour funkiness lurks in the background. The finish is long and dry with a bitter edge.
Soft carbonation gives way to a medium body while the texture is silky smooth with rough edges. Alcohol is barely perceptible.
This is an expressive Saison, well suited to the autumn harvest. It matches the day in appearance, aroma, feel and mood. One can easily commit to an entire afternoon with this beer and casual conversation.
