I'm not particuarlry fussy on brews from this brewer, but this one comes across as one of their better efforts. It's got some complexity and interesting things going on. Aged in a red wine barrel (Bordeaux) so it's got some wine, some oak, etc. going for it. Adds some depth. Not excessively boozy despite weighing in at 9.0% ABV. The alcohol adds to the overall aroma and flavour without having a sharp edge. Aromatic and flavourful. Unexpectedly malty. Clear and surprisingly pale copper colour, moderate short-lived head. Overall a worthy effort. Wish these guys would deliver more of this sort.
