22 oz bottle. Pours hazy copper amber with a big bubbly off white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is sweet earthy caramel malt with some spices.
The flavor is sweet bready toasted malt with a little spice and some funky earthiness with a boozy finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied withsoft carbonation.
Overall, there's not a lot to it.

Mildly cloudy, dark amber body; one-finger thick head, creamy; sheets and rings of lacing down the glass. Some caramel malt, not much else. Strong elements of malt grains and alcohol. Heavy body; warm.
For a holiday ale, there's not much here other than an unknown yet apparently high ABV. Things that I associate with holiday ales such as spiciness and pine-like notes are completely absent. No, this beer comes across more like an agreeable imperial amber ale, perhaps, but pretty much misses any winter or holiday seasonal qualities other than the mysterious (yet balanced) booziness.
