Picked up a single from the Kings Beer & Wine cooler 7-22-20 for $4.49. Canned 5-26-20; consumed 10-7-20. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured a cloudy golden orange with a very nice white head.
Nose is a light mix of tropical and citrus hops.
Taste is really well balanced with orange and mango playing nicely on the malt backbone. Finishes with a balancing touch of pulp; 5/10 on my bitterness scale.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and refreshing.
Overall a really nice APA, would love to have this on tap. Hopefully one day i will go back to Maine unless AZ receives a draft version!

This brew came off as orange. That's it. Orange in color, orange juicy mouthfeel and little to smell or taste other than citrus!
The head was decently high and had average retention but minimal lacing. Tried twice on two different days. I wish I could say more about it, but it was pretty unmemorable in the end. I don't know where the tiger went.

From the 16 fl. o. can dated 05/26/20. Sampled July 2, 2020.
The appearance is not as opaque as a NEIPA haze but it is a cloudy light amber color with a bountiful ivory head.
The aroma includes sensations of dark pine, a little earth, apricot, and white bread.
Smooth, medium or better mouthfeel.
The flavor starts out sweet and juicy with a bit of that apricot showing up and then it evolves into a moderate to bold dry bitter finale.

I've had a few beers from Orono, and they generally seem to be of high-quality so I figured I'd give this one a shot and picked up a single can from Craft Beer Cellar in Nashua, NH. Tiger Style is a "fierce pale ale" (of IPA strength; actually, almost a DIPA) dry-hopped with El Dorado and Citra. I mean, that sounds like a pretty good time right off the bat. I've mentioned this before in other reviews, but El Dorado needs some help from other hops to make the most of its unique characteristics, and Citra seems like a great, stalwart hop to pair with it. As if that weren't enough, this beer is only about a week old. Nice!
Pours an opaque deep orange/amber color with absolutely no clarity. Okay there guys. Not what I expected for some reason, but I'll take it. This has a nice hue to it, and, I must say, very nice lacing from the suds, which dissipate after a few minutes in my glass. Good legs, but the lace is pretty much a solid sheet of thin foamy bubbles, so the support is almost inconsequential since it's all perfectly connected. Completely hazed-over surface. Alright, I'm down with this.
The nose is exactly what I expect from a strong pale ale marrying ED and Citra hops. Strong overarching elements of apricot, melon, guava, grapefruit, papaya, and passion fruit with a light piney dankness and some peach inflection at times. Definitely a fruity endeavor, but no one aspect outplays anything else; it's just really solid! I'm surprised this has no reviews but does have a few ratings over the course of the couple of years it's been out. Maybe Orono hasn't caught on yet, but they really should. This has the makings of a hidden gem.
Wow, this does not taste like a 7.4% beer. Very surprising flavor profile with forward apricot, mango, papaya, and pomelo punctuated by some grassiness and catty guava. A little bit of resin, but it's mostly fruit-forward and very drinkable. Like a fruit cup in a glass... what a hop combo! And, as I mentioned, it's pretty damn drinkable given what I expected here. The hoppiness is not too aggressive, but the flavors come across really prominently with almost no bitterness. Good, moderate carbonation and a strict, dry finish that is eased into with a lightly-oily mid-palate. Malt balance is only that: balance. There is next-to-no actual malt character here; the hops do such a good job conveying powerful and specific flavors. I'm impressed once again. This brewery is becoming a "must-buy" venture, even compared to others from the great beer state of Maine. Recommended.
