Brewed to support the Orono Bog Boardwalk. Tropical taste explosion from an experimental method of double dry-hopping with Mosaic, Simcoe, Galaxy and a heavy dose of lupulin powder. Made with Maine grown grains.

Beer is a a hazy straw color. Not much of a head; some moderate lacing. Aroma is surprisingly faint. Some citrus and alcohol. Taste is powerful orange/grapefruit rind. It's bitter and fairly one-dimensional, with a dry finish with a little bit of hop burn. Mouthfeel is fine. It's a little heavy, but it's a double IPA so that makes sense. Overall I'm not that excited about this beer. It's got lots of bitter citrus stuff going on, but not that much else. It's ok, but not particularly interesting.

16oz can dated 6/07/19.
Pours murky gold with a thick, protein-rich head of white. Nice retention with decent lacing. Pithy grapefruit with unripe peach and tangerine in the nose. Medium bodied with a creamy, slightly chewy mouthfeel. Juicy, pithy citrus on the palate with zero malt and a drying bitterness. Grapefruit pith with peach skins. Finishes with lingering tropicals and a firm bitterness.

Golden hazy orange juice look. Decent head spotty lacing.
Smells of orange rind, grapefruit, mango.
Taste guava grapefruit mango tropical fruit with a peppery finish.
Very smooth dipa that I would buy on a regular.

Pours a cloudy orange gold color with a 1 finger soapy head that retains well but leaves little lacing.
The aroma is bright, fruity and a little sweet with notes of tangerine and grapefruit and a hint of peach.
The flavor is similar to the smell with tangerine dominating through the mid-taste, supplemented by a well-balanced sweet malt . The flavor is a little floral in the finish where the light bitterness finally peeks through as well.
The feel is a medium soft and full of carbonation up front. There is a light stickiness to the finish. There is a moderate alcohol burn throughout the taste stages.
This is a pretty damn good DIPA and the first I've had from Orono. It does drink pretty smoothly but I think there is a bit too much sweet behind it. Any nuances to the flavor are trumped by this factor.

Dangerously smooth DIPA. 8.3%, but drinks like a 6%.
