Hibiscus flowers and sweet orange peel mingle with the spicy, fruity Belgian yeast to create a dry, citrusy farmhouse-style ale.

never loved clean saison with samey french or belgian type yeast, and i dont love this one for that reason, maybe the least impressive of the several beers we had here, although its not poorly made, just kind of a lame recipe, pils malt, some pale wheat likely, a cultured saison strain done warm, estery and a little soapy and just tastes like a million others, nothing of intrigue at all on the ferment, but not poorly done. the thing that saves it a little bit for me is the hibiscus and orange peel they add to it. no real color from the flowers, but a neat springy herbal hit from them and some bitterness from the orange, both in aroma and flavor, subtle yeah, but complimentary with this yeast and adding a little needed dimension. oily citrus, noble type hops with a little lime, and a very simple and light grist. fine carbonation, light body, unexciting texture to me. overall this is nothing special, it would be cool with different yeast, some funk, something more rustic, but its too clean and samey as it is to work in this style for me. thankful for the hibiscus and orange peel, but i much preferred their hoppy stuff in here...
