We find that our stout is not exclusively for the dark beer drinkers. Subtle coffee and chocolate notes balance pleasantly with cranberries, giving the beer a somewhat tart finish. This beer holds both rich flavors and body.

Poured from 16oz can into glass. There is some stamping on the bottom of the can but nothing legible for dating.
Black colored body with dark brown highlights with presentation to light. Fluffy, bubbly, tan head is long lasting. Some spots of lacing left with each sip.
Aroma of roasted malts, milk chocolate, and oats.
Flavor is roasted malts and chocolate. A little char and a little smoky aspect. The cranberry ingredient does add a slight tartness to the end of the taste profile.
Thick, creamy mouth feel.
This is a very pleasant drinking oatmeal stout. Aroma, taste and mouth feel all add to the positive drinking experience. The cranberry ingredient is unusual but adds a good addition overall. The slight tartness comes at the right point in each sip, and adds a refreshing end point that lends itself to continuing sipping.

At the brewery, into a snifter. Pours a dark brown-black with a thin crown of off white head. Nose has some tart cranberry, some smokey peat, and very faint baker's chocolate...taste carries these notes through. Body isn't heavy but quite substantial. Finishes quite dry. Delicious.

Had this beer at the Big 10 brew pub in Minneapolis, Mn.
On tap, in tulip glass, nice and cole.
Look: pitch dark with hint of red if you held it up to bright lights
Smell: dark rich smell, hints of dark chocolate, distant coffee, deeper hint of cranberry if patient
Taste: so easy to quaff this one, you have hard time stopping at one, except it's a work lunch...wonderful dark chocolate, malts, and perfect touch of soft malt sweetness, all well balanced by final cranberry finish
Mouth: nice solid feel, you know you latched on to honest stout, but still lighter than many imperials
want to find where I can buy this for myself, I love discoveries like this, well done Lupine! Proud you call Mn home, please keep on creative brewing, more like this please!

Enjoyed a pint on tap at Old Chicago 1/20/2016, part of the Craft Beer mini tour
Delicious appearing dark brown/black/opaque with a mocha foam that left lacing. Smells of mild coffee and chocolate, dark fruit and oats. Tastes delicious. There's a mild tartness which must be the cranberries, along with milk chocolate, roasted coffee, oats, dark fruit. A hint of sweetness balanced against the acidic/tart cranberries fades into a darker/bakers type of chocolate finish and lingering coffeehouse character. Medium body, smooth and creamy. Very good, I'd drink this again.. and again.. Nice work.

Drank in a glass from a growler from the brewery. Very dark brown almost black. Dark tan head with nice lacing on the glass. Smells very good, vanilla and a box of chocolate covered Christmas cherries. Reminds me of Christmas and a box of cherries and a red flannel shirt. Taste goes all over your tongue. Tastes a little like cherries and dark chocolate, bitter, very chocolatly. Long lasting flavor. Some caramel. Cranberry taste is very subtle and tastes more like just fruity. Full bodied and creamy, smooth. Overall a very good smooth stout that falls into a classic stout feel with nice hints of fruit at the end. Overall not the best drinkability, its pretty heavy and is kind of hard to finish one.

Really decent stout. Tan head. Lots of lace.
Big coffee flavor and roast. Lots of chocolate. Minimal cranberries. Other than that, it was solid. Smooth and creamy. Easy to drink.

you hate to paint a beer into a box, but this is perhaps the best hangover cure beer i have ever enjoyed. the last thing i wanted was a hoppy beer after a few days of abusing wet hop season, barely even felt like an ale, but i saw this on a beer menu and had to do it. never heard of the brewery before this one, but it ended up being a wonderful choice. a big bold stout, tons of body, with a slightly smokey earthen aromatic, hints of bitter coffee and burnt barley, well made but not unique there, but then spiked with this hit of fresh cranberry thats a beautiful compliment. its fresh cranberries in nose and taste, acidic and piquant and a little astringent. they cut the body and the bitterness, and give it a very seasonal festive vibe. the cranberries are balanced perfectly, not over dosed, not faint and weak, its right on, coming through the darkness just enough. i drank a pint of the awfully easy, and could see this being a killer all day thanksgiving beer. it has so much going on, milk chocolate and dried fruit on the finish, this is arguably the best use of cranberries i have known in a beer. impressive first impression from the lupine crew.
