A typically underrated style.
On tap at a restaurant.
Dark amber color that you can't see through - but consistent and clean.
Aroma is like graham crackers right out of the oven.
Really balanced flavor of graham cracker, dark breads and spice (almost rye). Slightly bitter finish, in good way.
Mouthfeel is what stands out. Thicker and coats the mouth in a velvety manner more than I expect from a German alt.
Overall a really nice beer that pairs well with meats and mildly spiced dishes.
