Spoonwood Brewing, 2/26/22, at the bar.
On the nose I'm getting banana and toffee.
Bright in the mouth, the aromas follow through on the taste. Surprisingly good, this one for me. Malty, sweet, slight bite, and a beautiful bright gold color.

Tap at the brewery.
Pours a clear gold with a white film for a head.
Aroma is of grassy malts with a white grape fruitiness mixed with citrus and coriander.
Flavor is of grassy malt, coriander, citrus, chardonnay, and a grassy hop finish.
Full body with tingly carbonation on the roof of the mouth.
Decent aroma and flavor, tends towards a saison in those characteristics although not the strength. The body emulates Belgian styles especially well. Maybe the one hit is the appearance; it doesn't look like you expect from this style. Otherwise, solid representation of the style from an American brewery. Impressive.

Pours a nice clean looking gold color. White head and a bit of lace. Clean American belgian ale aroma. The taste is clean also with a cotton candy note tempered by hay and a firm herbal hoppiness. Tastes fresh, that's for sure. Full, crisp body. Hides the ABV well. Overall, this is a nice clean American style Belgian strong pale ale. Solid for what it is.

very good beer...not quite as good as an actual strong ale from Belgium, but quite good nonetheless.

Pours very mildly hazed gold. Flavor is kind of a mildly soapy and fairly yeasty sweet thing. Subdued fruit esters. A bit chewy and thick and somewhat clogged, to me. I am not one to go for the very "liquid bread" kind of Belgian ales, but I can see people digging this.
