Tap at the brewery.
Pours a clear deep reddish brown, white lacing for a head.
Light bready malt aroma, biscuity with brown sugar.
Flavor follows, biscuit malt with brown sugar, possibly a hint of coffee bean.
Full body with stinging carbonation on the roof of the mouth.
They call this one a Belgian porter, but it doesn't really feel Belgian or like a porter. Kind of a hybrid that ends up falling somewhere in the brown ale range. In that sense, quite a decent beer if a tad boring.

A Belgian porter. I can dig that. A combination of roasted and sweet tones. Mellow and smooth. It seems to me a definite hybrid. Nice beer.

Listed as a Belgian porter.
Pours a dark brown color with a white head. Good clarity and overall appearance. The aroma had a lot of roast and coffee upfront then giving way to a dark fruit character. Flavor has more roasted malt and coffee flavor, slight fruit and dryness. The feel was good with a full, smooth body and crisp, clean dry finish. This was a very nice beer, solid flavor and a good call for dark beer fans.
