Pours a rich amber with somewhat thin foam, moderate retention. Aroma features deep clove, banana bread and spicey esters. Taste is much along the same line, I felt the esters were balanced & restrained, lots of weizenbocks dial that up to 11 (often to hide flaws) but here it is very complimentary. It brings lots of classic wheat notes with a hefty malt backbone, the flavors are well-integrated and smooth. Spoonwood is one of the more underrated Pittsburgh breweries, seek them out.
