A nice tart .... which is to say, astrigent in a good way.
Had on tap at the Euston Tap (go there, whether or not you go thru the Station.)
While I could drink a mere half-pint, I was impressed.
This Smoked Apple Sour is not a doll in the glass; but the style rarely is, particularly when not filtered.
But Smells are like I would imagine malt smoked by applewood with some brett to tart it up.
Tastes follow closely. A refreshing attack and finish. But drier than some ciders I'd had recently.
In my whirlwind tour of England's Rust Belt, I had just arrived at Euston from Manchester. Having gone on Chorlton's modest website, I wish I'd had time to look them up and chit-chat about our favorite topic. They obviously are a young brewer and are part of the English micro-revolution, creating innovations in both the British and American traditions. While the visit was missed, I've been going to Manchester three times in this century. So who knows ?
In the meantime, I am glad to have sampled so many passionate pints in England.
