Had on tap. Fire engine red with a pink tinted head. Sweet tart cherry for the nose. Taste is more candied cherry with tart cherry juice and a hint of earthy yeast. Feel is clean and cool with a malt and tart emphasis. The wife's hungarian cherry beer tour continues...

Poured from 330mL can into a tall kitchen glass. Best by 4/19/24.

Appearance: brewed with cherry juice and it shows -- good red-pink color with a two fingers of light pink foam atop. The head doesn't stick around too long, but still, I think it is otherwise pretty.

Smell: rich, candylike cherry aroma. This beer is backsweetened after fermentation, which no doubt gives it the candy character. Nevertheless, as a sucker for cherry beers, I like it.

Taste: a little bit more malt character comes through in the flavor, than in the aroma. There's an earthy, natural flavor to it; the sweetening is definitely present, but not quite too strong. I like it.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: here is where I get to award points for style -- hooray, cherry beers! There's just enough tartness here to keep me coming back for more.

330ml can from Budapest:
Fizzy, translucent red with a pinkish-white head that's bubbly & about 1cm tall. It's not the strongest aroma, some pale lager malts initially with subtle hops before faint cherry comes through but it's minimal. There's a lot more cherry flavours with the taste, some subtle sour touches with a hint but of raspberry & some candied sugar later on; it's slightly over carbonated & quite fizzy throughout but the nose was far too weak & the taste wasn't particularly great.
