Our big and bold, Hazy IPA, brewed with Citra, Mosaic and Sabro hops. A softer malt body from oat and wheat additions is coupled with juicy tropical fruit flavours & aromas of coconut and pineapple.
ABV: 7.2%
IBUs: 60
This beer is an ode to the often overlooked brewing pallet. First built strong and sturdy, it moves all our ingredients into the brewery and all our packaged beer back out. They take a lot of abuse though and don't last forever. Many a pallet is eventually broken down and thrown into a heap out back. Maybe a local scavenger will give it new life? Or maybe it just ends up as firewood? Either way, we couldn't do without them and there's no shortage of, let us say, less than ideal condition pallets, strewn across the roadsides of East Hamilton. Nothing lasts forever though - especially pallets! So we hope you enjoy this deliciously hazy, hop soaked IPA as we say fare thee well to once great pallets fallen.

473 mL can from the LCBO; I can't find a canning date. Listed at 7.2%, and served barely chilled.
Pours a hazy golden-amber colour, producing one finger of loose, sudsy white head that melts away within two or three minutes. A thin collar and a few wisps on the surface are the only remnants, with spotty lace deposition. Muddled aroma of orange, stone fruit, passion fruit, floral hops and melon, with nothing in particularly standing out.
Decent flavours - I'm getting tangerine and tropical fruits, e.g. passion fruit, guava and coconut. That last one gains momentum on the back end, shining through alongside some floral, earthy hop bitterness; bready, wheaty malts fill in the gaps. Fruity, mildly boozy aftertaste that lingers on the tastebuds for a second or two. Full-bodied, with middling carbonation levels that tickle the palate throughout the sip; exceedingly smooth and luscious mouthfeel. Fair drinkability, but at this abv one will always be enough.
Final Grade: 3.81, a B+. I've had better hazy IPAs than Brokedown Pallet, but this wasn't too difficult to appreciate. My biggest issue with this one is its lack of distinctiveness - the flavours are nice enough, but this is one of the most over-represented styles in existence, and there's just no hook here. I have no reason to believe that this can is particularly fresh, so I'd be willing to give it another chance as soon as I'm able to find some verifiably fresh stock. In the meantime, I'll give it a conditional thumbs up - it's worth a shot at the very least.

473ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase. Canned February 4, 2026. Listed at 7.2% ABV.
Appearance - Very orange very hazy brew with a finger of tight foamy head on top.
Smell - Grapefruit and orange with a hint of guava.
Taste - More orange and grapefruit, pith comes through at the end resulting in a bitter conclusion.
Mouthfeel - Smooth creamy and velvety body, good carbonation. Drinks smoothie like.
Overall - There's just something here about the flavor and texture that comes across really nicely. Worth a try for sure.
