I bought this bottle due to an excellent experience that my family had at the brewery. I hadn't ever heard of an English Bitter brewed with Brett, so I figured I would give it a shot.
I followed the pouring instructions listed on the bottle and was glad that I did. The carbonation was strong and a large, but controlled head quickly rose up. I'm not an expert on brett beers, but the aroma definitely had the brett character that I expected. It was muted, but present. The color was a dark amber, and fairly hazy. The flavor and feel of the beer really stood out to me. It was a hot, summer afternoon and this beer had a light, clean and dry feel to it. The flavor was quite strong, but not overtly so. Everything seemed to be at the appropriate level of intensity.
Fortunately I'll have the opportunity to travel down to the Cape more frequently in the coming years, so I'll be on the lookout for more of this, and more offerings from Devil's Purse.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
