Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a ruddy orange to brown color with a thin finger’s worth of quickly dissipating head. Sly lace quickly moves into the beer. The aroma had some toast, herbal to earthy tones, some banana, light red delicious apple, some grassy and then floral qualities. Crisp Autumn leafy dryness. The flavor blended the prior mentioned aromas to a dry sweet souped up woody to that Autumn leafiness. Herbal and earthiness comes back to play with some light bitter grassy hops. Sly hay to earthy semi-sweet aftertaste leading into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Dry sweet leathery grip on my tongue. Overall, interesting but good saison that I wouldn’t mind coming back to.
