Designed to be a flagship-worthy IPA in our sea of experimentation and rotation, Chisel is a tropical mélange of aromas. Beginning with bold scents of mango, over-ripe papaya, and orange marmalade, Chisel will draw your face to the glass till you retreat with some of its thin fluffy head coating the tip of your nose. Your only option will be to give in and start guzzling its dry nectar. Slowly washing across the palate, you will find unique caramelized peach undertones provided by its specialty malts, with a flavor profile dominated by Citra hops. It finishes with a balanced bitterness, hints of tangerine, and a blast of white grapefruit. Chisel is a modern West Coast IPA that could be anyone's everyday IPA.

Chilling up in Monterey and Raul only knows one way! Sipping hard and feeling large and in charge! As I take another drink, it just makes me think that I want more. I want more of this beautiful life. With that, I also want more of Chisel.
Yep!

Pour at Berkeley taphouse into tulip. Honestly let down based on the reviews/ratings...but they've had some batch variability.
L: Bright copper golden with finger of medium density white head that had moderate retention and left ringed lacing.
S: Very, very mute. Faint tropical, but really hard to perceive anything definitive.
T: Tropical, but still lacking dynamic attributes. Nothing Wow. Bummer. Finishes with limited astringency and a bit of lingering bitterness.
F: Medium bodied with medium carbonation, bright and lively.
O: Will revisit based on reviews, maybe a variable batch.
Update - Can into a an imperial nonic pint on 12/24/20.
L: Unchanged
S: Much improved nose from my earlier experience. Citra aspects defintely out in front, more piney aspects from the El Dorado as it warms. Increased 3.5 to 4.25.
T: Unchanged
F: Unchanged
O: Bumping up a 0.25 point as the much improved nose increased my enjoyment of the beer. 4.0 to 4.25

Update:
Classic west coast IPA. Clear pouring light aroma, big piney, chewy bitterness. Touch of a cilantro soapiness. Work your way through this.
This pours a light straw-golden color. Light, fantastic smelling hop aroma—I get a lot of lemony lime citrus notes. It’s crisp and fresh, with a clean, dry finish. This was a good one. This could easily be an everyday drinker.

From tap. Some nice/smooth qualities with this lighter body, smell was a little lacking otherwise would recommend

Absolutely amazing, mouth is smooth and juicy. Hops are barely noticeable but somehow still present. Honestly the best IPA I have had since Alameda ca, Faction brewing's divergent IPA. Fieldwork does IPA's right. If you like juicy , tropical not too bitter IPA's, than fieldwork is your mom and pop one stop shop
