Way back when we first opened, Hannah was our first brewery dog as well as our first Belgian-style beer and an immediate staff favorite. Hannah the beer is a Biere de Garde that uses a blend of base malts from Germany to create a rich malt character that complements its Belgian specialty malts that provide a nice subtle note of candied plums and toasty malts. To create unique undertones we use a very small amount of New Zealand hops to give subtle notes of lime zest and fresh cut grass to play off of the citrusy and earthy nature of the yeast. Raise a tulip of Hannah to its namesake and thank her for the inspiration for a beer almost as intrepid as her.

A: The beer is a little hazy amber in color. It poured with a wide collar of medium-sized white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted malts and oak are present in the nose.
T: The taste is a little acidic and has notes of toasted malts with a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a nice balance between the oak and toasted malts and isn't that heavy on the palate.

Very classic beer. When I crave a beer this is the bitter, malty taste I crave.

This pours a warming caramel color.
Big Belgo aroma comes across, a hint of caramel and bubble gum lingers.
Belgo estery with a touch of caramel malt.
Good one.
