Weighing in at a dependable 8% ABV, Monsoon is the rare breed of Westcoast Double IPA that strikes a balance between dry and juicy while remaining uncharacteristically refreshing. The initial aroma is a relentless grappling match between passionfruit and sauv blanc grape, only to give way to tropical notes of sweet tangerine, papaya, honeydew melon, gooseberries, pineapple, and juicy grapefruit. A mellow malt profile and mild bitterness wash the constantly evolving hop profile across the palate so you can experience the nuance that some of the best Mosaic in the world has to offer.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden amber with a frothy beige head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: A quick hit of resinous pine, followed by big ripe tropical and stone fruit, zesty citrus, a touch grassy, light floral notes, biscuity bready malt, and caramel sweetness, with just a touch of alcohol poking through as it warms.
T: Juicy citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, lime, and lemon, resinous pine, ripe tropical and stone fruit, guava, pineapple, peach, melon, papaya, and a little grape candy, floral notes, biscuity bready malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: On the fuller side of medium body, mild to moderate carbonation, soft and kinda chewy.
O: Drinks kinda like an old school DIPA with some new school hop flair.

Wish I could get excited about this beer. I love fieldwork and the brewery, very nice people and a very nice setting...had an IPA and a dark beer before getting to this one and it was pretty mediocre. It didn't leave an impression on the nose or taste. Very good DIPA but not anything to get exited about...worth trying though.

Very good DIPA with plenty of nice hop prifike showing tropical fruit, grapefruit and citrus. Very smooth balanced well made IPA showing a newer style with different hop varietals. Great beer. Very impressed with Fieldwork's beers so far.
