Had it on nitro which definitely affected the nose on the beer. Light mouth feel and masks the bitterness very well.

Palate Contaminants: dessert
The appearance is a really clear gold. Plenty of fine off-white foam on top, too.
The smell is very pleasant. The big scent is pineapple juice. It's nearly candy. There are some other fruits like papaya and sweet red grapefruit. A little bit of pine nut, as well.
All the fruit tastes are present at the first pass over the tongue, but then earthen tastes take over. Fresh peat and moss are the main earthy flavors, but there's also a wood that I can't quite determine. It also has a nutty slant, so maybe it's walnut wood or almond wood. I can get close, but I can't precisely place it. Bitter and sweet are nicely balanced. Man, I should have had a steak with this.
Feel is smooth and chewy. The carbonation stays well blended with the liquid, so a swish around the mouth doesn't render any prickliness.
Not quite superlative, but very, very good.

Original rating could even be bumped up after having it on nitro draught at Davis Beer Shoppe on 04/21/17, delicious! Nose isn't quite as potent vs. CO2, but felt the flavors were more notable and played off each other better on nitro. I'll grab this beer whenever I see it.

This is an outstanding double IPA by almost anyone's definition.
Bright clear gold; white head; very assertive pineapple hop nose that's rich, sweet and super inviting.
Mouth feel is big, bold and rich with perfect carbonation.
Flavor profile is all big bitter hops with bright tones and rich honey. Thick bold flavors that just keep coming and coming.
Finish is clean but long lasting and bitter bold, with a honey layered undertone.
