Island Time Tropical Sour Ale looks exactly how it feels when you step off a plane in Hawaii and someone drapes a lei around your neck. The vibrant pink color screams for an umbrella to be dropped in the glass while your imagination takes your toes to a warm white sandy beach. The nose of this tiki inspired concoction is ripe with red papaya that kicks with an almost sweet smelling funkiness. As this tropical beer sets sail across your tastebuds, you’ll be exposed to more fruit-fueled complexity than you could have imagined. Potent notes of papaya quickly dissipate and are overtaken by boisterous waves of pineapple and eventually finishing with ripe to perfection mango flavors; all with refreshing and underlying notes of key lime and hibiscus flowers. Crafted with the coast of Molokai on our mind; Island Time Tropical Sour Ale is incredibly tart and exceedingly juicy, taking your palate on vacation every time you grab a pint.

32 oz. crowler. Looks like pale grapefruit juice. Smells tropical, lightly acidic. Like guava and papaya or something. Tastes tart, grapefruit tart. A little grainy. Less dynamic of a fruit flavor. Medium light. Nice.

Drank on draft at Field Work taproom.
Look: Vibrant transparent reddish pink, almost like a darker rosé wine. No distinguishable head, but has prevalent lacing around glass.
Smell: Smells of tart tropical fruit. Nothing outrageous or special.
Taste: Tropical fruit, heavy on pineapple and guava. Carbonation seems relatively high, but I find it enjoyable.
Feel: Feel is thin-medium body, with acidic footnotes. Somewhat full and grainy, but not overdone.
Overall: I found this very refreshing and enjoyable. Would drink again.

A: Moderate tropical fruit, especially papaya, light pineapple and mango, coupled with moderate sourness.
A: Pink color, opaque, with a thinnish white head that quickly dissipates into the glass.
T: Moderate tropical fruit, coupled with moderate lime, lightly floral and earthy with a moderate sourness through the finish.
M: Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Solid; the beer has an enjoyable tropical fruit aroma and flavor, but the lime pushes the sourness to be a little too overpowering and prominent and either needs to be dialed back or have more fruit added.
