Sweet roasty-toasty, milk chocolate malty, hint of coconut, and hint of vanilla nose on this one! Taste follows with a chocolate and vanilla-coconut finish...some chocolate bitter notes linger a bit. As it warms, some floral/spicy vanilla bean notes show up. This one is a little thin on the palate which takes away from enjoying the vanilla and coconut fully. This needs to be a little thicker/more viscous to truly capture the German Chocolate Cake description.

10oz snifter at THG.
A: Pours a deep dark brown near black with a thin dark tan head that slowly faded into a bubbly collar.S: Tons of fresh coconut on the nose with hints of milk chocolate. Coconut dominates. T: Velvety chocolate/coconut combination that's smooth and sweet with a balancing amount of chocolate bitterness. Smooth chocolate syrup flavor mixed with sweet coconut oils, vanilla, and a touch of roast. Coconut lingers in the aftertaste with a touch of bitter roast and dark chocolate fudge flavor.
M: Super velvet smooth and greasy mouthfeel full of coconut oil and soft carbonation. Soft carb. Medium greasy body, lighter mouth.
O: Very smooth and easy coconut chocolate stout soft and creamy easy to drink.

Outstanding. Fieldworks is killing it lately. The more I drink it the more I like it. What an awesome beer.

16 oz. can. Dark brown, almost black. Smells of coconut, chocolate, pretty much exactly like a German chocolate cake. Tastes much the same. Coconut and chocolate. Sweet maltiness and milk chocolate. Astringent in the finish. Medium heavy. Medium carbonation. Almost like brown ale with lots of chocolate and coconut. Tasty in very small quantities, but I don't think I could drink much of it.

Another one of my favorites from a recent trip. Pours black, brown head, thin 1/4". Aroma blasts of almond joy, reminiscient of Pizza Port's "Deeeez Nuts".
Similar, you get sweet chocolate and coconut in the taste. Its there. Its good, its real easy drinking. Not overly sweet, but damn it helps hide any abv on this one. Is it simplistic? Maybe. Chocolate, coconut. Sometimes thats all you need. While this one may lack the smoked nuts of more complex beers in this vein, I think this one's simplicity does it very well. Would definitely bang again, and hope someday for a bourbon barrel version.
