Brewed for 2nd Anniversary.
Eastside Motel is the Double IPA that figuratively glides and swerves across your palate with the silky notes of Citra and Blanc hops. Aromas bump and rattle like Rockford Fosgate subs in a homemade box, throwing off huge notes of juicy orange wedges, lemonade, Pinot Grigio wine grape, and mango-guava. With a nose that packs a tropical blast, it's easy to enjoy the aromatic onslaught Citra provides alongside the perfectly complex and vinous accompaniment of Blanc. Whether you are a Double IPA junky or only occasionally indulge in the oversized hop bombs of the world, it's probably a wise choice to make your next stop Eastside Motel.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Lively ripe citrus leads the way, followed by tropical and stone fruit, white grape, slight grassy notes, biscuity malt, and caramel honey sweetness.
T: Ripe citrus, orange, Meyer lemon, and faint grapefruit, tropical and stone fruit, white grape, guava, mango, peach, apricot, and pineapple, a touch grassy, biscuity malt, and caramel honey sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate, dangerously drinkable for 8.3%.
O: Super refreshing for a DIPA. Can't remember the last time I had a beer with Blanc, but it works really nicely here paired with the Citra, like a less domineering Nelson. Really glad I was able to finally cross this one off my list.

Can at bottle share.Hazy, milky pour, small bubbly head. Not quite a traditional NEIPA, with the fruitiness coming more from the orchard rather than the tropics. Nice malt backbone, along with some nice grassy, floral hops.

On-tap at Fieldwork Brewing Co., Sacramento, CA
A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a collar of medium-sized bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of orange citrus are present in the nose along with notes of grapefruit.
T: The taste follows the smell and is very citrusy with flavors of oranges and grapefruit. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied and very juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very juicy and tastes like an imperial version of a New England IPA. It is very drinkable.
Serving type: on-tap

Crowler canned 3/23/19, consumed 3/28/19
Looks like straight up orange juice with a thick, off-white finger-sized head, decent retention and lots of thick bands of lacing.
Bright citrus and white wine grape aroma with a little bit of tropical fruits.
Fuller flavor profile of citrus, white grapes, lemongrass, and tropical fruits.
Feel is so soft, smooth, creamy & easy, lower carbonation, med/light body, good low bitterness to round it all out.
Overall, yet another outstanding hazy from Fieldwork, seems like everything's dialed in these days and they just keep pumping out killer brews.

This is the third (maybe fourth?) batch of Eastside Motel that I've had - each batch seems to be better than the last. I find myself giving this beer a better and better rating each time I try it - but now it's time to rate/review this beer properly:
Poured from a growler into a stemless tulip glass. Look is a hazy, straw color. Smell is magnificent! Subtle notes of peach and pineapple. Taste is similar to smell - nice mix of tropical and stone fruits. Mouthfeel is nice and fluffy - maybe lacking a bit of robustness. Carbonation is just right to give it the perfect amount of effervescence. Alcohol is deviously/dangerously hidden.
Overall: This is exactly what I want from a hazy/NE DIPA! Every aspect of this beer is incredible! It's juicy, tropical, and very drinkable. I look forward to every time this beer is released. Near perfection!

Sweet Orange citrus nose on this one! Great aromatics with taste following closely. Great depth and mouthfeel with a slight creaminess to it. The low bitterness and creaminess pairs really well with the orange citrus notes. Fantastic!

So smooth its slippery. Hides it’s strength dangerously well. Pours a turbid cloudy. Burst of hoppy goodness all over the place. Sweet finish, with a nice malty backing.

L: Dark orange in color with tints of amber. Completely hazy in appearance. About a finger of a frothy dense, off-white cap. Loads of lacing left on the glass.
S: Earthy and grassy smelling. Malts presence on the nose with slight citrus presence.
T: Citrus and grassy hop flavor is initial. Finish is pineapple and mango with some sweetness from the malts. The lemongrass aspects come back as a residual flavor. Very well done. Has that classic earthy/pithy Fieldwork flavor, but with a nice citrus and malt balance.
F: Soft and full bodied. Low carbonation. The perfect pillowy feel that I wish all NEIPAs had.
O: All I know is I wish I bought more. This might be my favorite NEIPA from Fieldwork. The alcohol is not detectible at all, and its super enjoyable. I am very grateful to have tried, and would drink again. Cheers!
