As much as we adore the modern American craft beer movement, we have never been able to shake our youth-induced love for bland mass-produced Lagers. Our goal with Finer Things Mosaic Light Lager was to develop a nose that would quench our need for hops but drink like you'd think it was served in a red Solo cup. Designed to be infinitely refreshing and deliciously pungent, scents of ruby red grapefruit and honeydew melon rain down onto your senses like it's the IPA of your dreams.
Hop bitterness and resins are subdued to the point that they can only be described as delicate, leaving this crisp and clean Light Lager drinking as easy as any overly-approachable macro beer that summer typically screams for. With a light and refreshing finish that is blanketed by plumes of hop aroma; Finer Things Mosaic Light Lager is the beer you want when it is simply just too damn hot out for an IPA.

Man it feels like its been forever since I wrote a beer review. Been on vacation for the last 10 days in Denver and Milwaukee. Also starting to draw a connection between the tennis elbow and typing/scrolling on the mouse at work. Let's crank a flight of Fieldwork reviews out and see how it goes.
This is like one of their super aromatic session strength hoppy beers. Its appearance is that of a familiar popular lager created in immense proportions. Head jacks up and settles down pretty quickly, the clarity is impressive, head goes from over 1/2" and settles under 1/4" in just a few seconds. The aroma, well, I don't give out 5's too often, but this is the best smelling beer in the world. So much Mosaic permeates the nose, dank melon notes all over it. Dat marijuana cantelope. Even provides a light pineapple note to it. This is some "you gotta smell this" level stuff. Man how awesome would it be to have this on shelves for summertime.
The body is super light just like any familiar product. I dunno, take Miller Lite and just torch it with tons of Mosaic hops and it works so damn well. As formats get bigger and abv double digits stack up, demands for viscosity continue. But here, you have something so light and ever flavorful with just a massive boatload of Mosaic hops pushing all the weight on this. Beautiful in its simplicity, its definitely one of the finest beer mashups known to man.

The foam dissipates far too quickly atop this pale yellow fizzy lager packed to the gills with hop aroma. It's all about the mosaic, with lots of Melony and lemony notes. Low abv makes this go down far too easy. Put this in sixers at a competitive price and I'm all in.

Updated rating to a review from can dated 05/14/21 into an imperial tulip pint glass.
L: Vibrant golden with 1 finger of white medium-density head with moderate retention and left thin ringed lacing. (Increased to 4 25 from my original 4.0 rating from draught pour at Sac taproom)
S: Subtle, but plenty of Mosaic goodness, grassy, dank and berries.
T: Follows the nose well but much more dynamic. Tremendous flavor for such a light beer. Finishes with moderate bitterness that lingers pleasantly. (Increased to 4.75 from original rating of 4.5)
F: Low-medium bodied with medium carbonation, dances lightly on the tongue, crisp and slick on the swallow.
O: A delicious light lager with modern hops, definitely a happy repeat everytime they brew it.

Stunningly good for a 4.2% lager. Nose was very floral and hoppy, body had enough malt backing to where this thing was tasting great.

One of the best "light" beers I've ever had. Couldn't believe the nose on this thing; mosaic for days. Smells like a dry hopped pale. Taste was crisp and clean. Super refreshing and tons of flavor for 4.2%. Would drink again for sure.

On tap at Fieldwork's Sacramento taproom.
Look: Clear, light golden. Slightly darker than a Coors Light but not by much. Certainly prettier lacing.
Smell: Stunned. Like I'm smelling an APA/IPA. The amount of mosaic hopping produces an amazing aroma of melon.
Taste: What? This is a lager? Absolutely delicious and like no other lager I've ever had. Not necessarily bitter, though it does have dry, slightly bitter characteristics. Almost tastes like a session version of Shoreline IPA.
Feel: So light. Aftertaste of sweet dryness.
Overall: One of the best beers I've ever had. I'm not entirely sure this is actually a lager, but who cares.
