Paulie vs. Steve IPA is an ode to the hallowed walls of Toronado, once a list comparing the two beer slingers behind the bar, now an IPA comparing the best qualities from each coast. With mellow malt character and vacant sweetness the Westcoast IPA bells begin to ring, only to be followed up with a pillowy body and softly balanced bitterness that jump to the other corner of the country. An aromatic wallop of Galaxy and El Dorado hops stick to your nostrils with a boisterous serenade of pineapple juice, pomelo zest, peach puree, and fresh squeezed limes. The hop flavor seems never ending and forever changing as it floats across your palate on that pillowy body, shifting from one fruit juice flavor to the next, but never shaking free from that machine gun of pineapple. Happy birthday to you Toronado, and thank you for everything.

Another review from that last weekend around in the pool in September 2019. Haven't been buying Fieldwork, they kind of priced themselves out of much consideration for me.
Anyways this pours a cloudy yellow. 1/3" white head. The aroma was a light amount of pineapple (compared to their Galaxy Juice at least) and citrus rind.
Taste hit the El Dorado kind of bitterness and flavor, still exhibiting a little bit of pineapple, but more grapefruit rind and guava feels to it in a mellow way relative to the dual purpose bitterness going on. Could have had a drier mouth feel. The body was equal parts different coast ipas. Would have thought this was better, the one thing about their higher than average price point, was that they are usually better than average quality. While this was better than average still, it wasn't better than their own average.
If you're gonna charge a premium price, better bring the premium quality, this was just merely good not great.

Happy 30th Toronado! This brew pours a straw blondish gold with a generous cap of foam. What a nose! Lightly tropical, guava and juiced mango, met by the flavor. Mildly bitter, drying finish, smooth and rounded. It's a good one.
