Many, many moons ago, we were a brand new brewery, releasing a slew of Single Hop and Single Malt beers under our Saint Series name. The first of which, Saint Sartori was named in honor of the Owner and Head Brewer of Altamont Beer Works and our brother in all things hella: Steve Sartori. Brewed for the newest addition to their family, Vito Anthony Sartori, St. Vito's Ire is a reimagining of his father's previous namesake beer with a lower ABV, and the addition of his poppa's favorite malt (Golden Promise), hops (Citra and Simcoe), and fermented with the Altamont house yeast. A mildly malty and doughy beer with a fluffy body and a bitterness softer than his baby-bottom, St. Vito's Ire is true to its Double IPA predecessor but with more refinement, better looking, better smelling, and all around just better. Pretty sure that's all from his momma. Congrats Jessica and Steve! Hope this beer can help you get a little sleep.

Had this beer as beer #5 in my 6 beer flight at the source in Berkeley, CA. Pours a yellow color, thin 1/4" white head. Aroma pops Citra hops and all their usual sweet citrus leanings (tangerine, papaya).
Taste is pushed by the Simcoe hop, this is one of the least bitter iterations of a Simcoe bittering hopped beer I've ever had. Its a nice mix of ipa styles, but goes west coast harder than any other subgenre I'd say. Golden Promise lays down a nice base that is dry and out of the way.
