1st review of this beer on BA.
Pours a maltier appearance, this one is clearly amber. I guess this is kind of their stab at a Mexican lager with all its amber maltiness. 3/4" light beige head. Kicks down some noble saaz like hops, hint of caramel, dig the aromatic vibes on this one.
Taste is a nice change of pace. Reminds me of Alesmith's Sublime Mexican Lager, but with heavier Saaz hopping. Really has a good ability at combining non ipa hops with a malty interior. Could have went with a little less caramel as it seemed to have just a bit more body than ideal, but this is still one of my favorite Vienna Lagers out there. Its crisp with the hops and carbonation, but had just a bit more caramel going for it. I mean you wanna crush some tacos, chips and salsa, this beer fits that pairing beautifully. Nice low alpha acid level from the Saaz compliments the caramel with some earthiness of its own plus that herbal, floral impact alongside a crisp level of carbonation.
