If someone knows us even the slightest bit at all then they certainly know that; we love Gilmore Girls, we love naming beers after mariachi songs we were forced to sing in Middle School, and cleaning out our cold box of fruit purees that were taking up space and throwing them all in one grab bag of a beer. The latter two loves were joined together to create De Colores, a Kettle Sour Ale that is inspired by the rainbow of agua fresca options that sit on the counter of our favorite Mexican joints. We threw in Lime, Guava, Lemon, Orange, Watermelon, Apricot, Tamarind, and Grapefruit to form a kind of Voltron-like fruited Sour Ale with a sharp acidity and a varied fruit nature that strikes like chewing every flavor of Skittles at once. Except for purple, because no one likes purple.

A: Zesty citrus, coupled with light tropical fruit and faint candied watermelon notes, followed by a moderate sourness.
A: Gold color, clear, with no head at all.
T: Baked fruits with notes of citrus and light tropical fruit, faint watermelon, with a moderate clean lacto sourness through the finish.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Alright; the beer has an interesting melody of aromas and flavors, but feels a bit disjointed.

Drank on draft from Fieldwork tap room
Look: Light golden color, slightly hazy. No head, moderate lacing.
Smell: Very interesting. More sweet than sour, with hints of sugar and cinnamon. Grapefruit, orange, pineapple and lemon scents also present.
Taste: Sour initially, with grapefruit, orange and pineapple flavoring. Next comes that sweetness aspect, which was interested and balanced.
Feel: Feel is medium bodied, and relatively heavy for a typical sour. Grainy on the tongue, which I thought was enjoyable.
Overall: I liked this beer. Very different from a usual sour. Ended up taking a crowler of it home, as it is also a hit with my wife. The sweet/sour combo really blends well with this beer.
