Consumed October/November 2020. Pours a murky orange/amber color with 1/2" dense white head. The color just isn't attractive, but the head/retention is.
The aroma kicks equally on the Idaho 7 as it does Citra, has a bitter citrus rind and pine kind of aspect instead of the often sweeter citrus flesh like impact of Citra alone.
The taste just doesn't rise up to what most look for in a Citra hopped beer. This takes on a bit of woody bitterness, a common result of some Idaho 7 beers. We're getting away from the citrus fruit itself and taking on more of the leaves, bark and rind as if from such a thing. This one really seems led by bittering hops. I normally dig the shit out of Fieldwork's hoppy stuff, price aside, but this one really didn't do it for me for the price point.
I also don't get the commercial tug job about passive bitterness, didn't seem passive to me, but also wasn't problematic. Ultimately, at the price, much like a $3.5 trillion spending bill that purportedly costs "zero". . . none of this really adds up.

On tap at Eureka! 9/20/18
Terrific hazy fruity/danky/piney IPA. Looks amazing, full hazy and cloudy gold with a nice head that left lots of beautiful bands of lacing.
Aroma is full, danky, piney with a bit of a zesty twang, then you pick up all the tropical and citrus fruits, very enticing and appealing.
Taste is follows aroma but not as sharp, still very nice hybrid East-West hazy.
Feel is soft, medium, slightly lower carbonation, low but solid bitterness.
Loved it, went perfect with the fancy burger and apps. Would absolutely get it again and will be on the lookout for more from Fieldwork.

Pours a turbid golden to bright yellow with a thick white foam head. Nose is pine and citrus with faint cracker. Taste a bit of sticky pine up front along with a peppery earthyness. Citrus peel and slight juicyness along with mango and guava follow. Taste is rounded out be a nice dry cracker like maltyness. Semi creamy, medium to full body. Crisp bitter bite at the end. A solid offering from Fieldwork. Not King Citra or Destination Unknown level but still tasty.

Crowler poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves some nice lacing.
S: Opens spicy with a little resinous pine, then rolls into over ripe tropical fruit and citrus, and rounded out with biscuity malt and caramel sweetness.
T: Tropical fruit, mango, passion fruit, peach/apricot, a bit spicy, citrus, orange marmalade, grapefruit, a little pine, faint dank herbal notes, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, somewhat soft on the palate, with a little spicy tingle.
O: Another fun tasty one from Fieldwork. Now I need to track down the imperialized original version.
