Had on-tap at Black Stallion in Orangevale, CA
Appearance - Served up in a pint, hazy and lightly burnt orange in color with a thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Good amount of lacing in broken webbing and spotting.
Smell - Strong dank aroma with underlying citrus and a slight pineapple aroma.
TasteĀ - Juicy orange with hints of pineapple upfront, then some prominent dank pine arises and dominates to the finish. Hints of grapefruit pith can be found toward the end and into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with a fair amount of bitey carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a crisp, dry and refreshing finish.
Overall - This is a really well-made brew, but Simcoe and its strong dank character simply does not do it for me.

T - powerfully dank. Supported by citrus and pine. Low bitterness. Low sweetness. Low booziness.
F - medium body and carb.
O - one-dimensional, perhaps by design.

Canned May 24, 2018. Very fresh, and I am very excited.
Look: Dark murky yellow in color. Only about a fingers worth of head, with some residual glass lacing.
Smell: Very earth-forward. Strong aromas of cut grass and weed vegetation. More of an actual weed smell rather than marijuana. Citrus fruit accents in the back, consisting of grapefruit and tangerine. Some floral notes. Nice smelling, full of a natural earthy/plant smell. Nice barley/malt aromas like sweetbread.
Taste: Up front is citrus rind and grapefruit along with a biscuity malt flavor. The finish is slighty bitter with a grassy hop flavor. Pleasant lingering sweet taste in the mouth. No astringent flavors, and taste is well balanced. Not as grassy as in the smell.
Feel: Full in body and weight, with a semi-gritty consistency. The beer has a nice heft to it, with relatively low carbonation.
Overall: Another enjoyable offering from Fieldwork. I am glad to have tried this one, and appreciate the attributes it brings to the table. Very grateful to try. Cheers!
