We don't get a whole lot of Enigma hops coming through our doors, but when we do we like to drop a hell of a lot of them into a Double IPA in all of there bizarre and... ...well, enigmatic wonderfulness. This crop year of Enigma is even more complex than previous years with big Nelson Sauvin-like notes of wild fermented wine grapes, diesel, and papaya, with layers of weed, white grapefruit, and pruno. With an aroma profile more illogical than but every bit as real as Bob Dylan rapping on a Kurtis Blow track; Saint Martin pours with a silky body that transports huge flavors of lime zest and passionfruit across the palate like daiquiri ice cream. Named after our good friend Martin, master of the pipe wrench and savior of broken glycol lines; Saint Martin is unlike any hoppy beer we've had from its key lime creaminess to its tropical wine nose.

Can dated 12/4/19 into an imperial pint glass.
L: Pours murky brown orange with 1+ finger of medium density white head with great retention and left mixed ringed/spotted lacing.
A: Pleasant moderately potent nose, white grapes, dank, and floral, berry undertones
T: Follows the nose well. Finishes with mild bitterness and acidity, acidity lingers on the palate.
F: Low-medium bodied with moderate carbonation, alcohol and acidity lead to subtle tongue tingling.
O: I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of Enigma hops, but this is a finely crafted beer. I wouldn't search it out, but am glad I have another can to try in a week or 2.
