1st review on BA. Had this as the first beer on a flight during SFBW, much less after drinking at the double ipa festival earlier in the day. This was my fave of the flight, which is not what I expected. Pours like a clean pilsner should. Lots of clarity, 1/2" white head, ample carbonation. Sexy. Aroma, while I'm about to stroke the Loral hop for the first time, I'm still holding on to the opinion that aroma is the least impressive category for the hop. Smells of a mild floral, pepper like green aspect. Its kind of an imperial noble like hop if you will.
Where Loral succeeds here more than previous efforts from say, Stone and Moonraker (to a lesser degree), is it works great in a lager (hence the imperial noble reference). Previously all my Loral hops were in ipas. Yeah, its serviceable there, but I think in this one example, it is more fitting of a lager, of a high carbonation, dry, yet firmly bitter and hoppy lager. Would really dig to see it jacked up in an IPL now. Anyways, I focused a lot on the Loral hop here, but really, everything else about the beer was spot on and not unique. Dry pilsner malt, great effervescent mouth feel, good high carbonation on point for style. Was good stuff. Can it up next time Fieldwork!
