This throwback of a hazy is bringing all the flavors of 5 ALIVE in a super crushable format ripe with a bouquet of citrus provided by the Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops. The nose of Video Armageddon mashes the keypad with overripe fruit that twists into a sticky-lipped concoction of orange juice, passion fruit, grapefruit zest, lemon candies, and black lime from the first level to the last. Pungent, creamy, and drenched in citrus with a nose that lingers on for miles Video Armageddon will hit all of that Westcoast citrus nostalgia in an antithetical form factor for the juice head in all of us.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a firm layer and leaves plenty of thick lacing.

S: Zesty juicy citrus, soft ripe exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, a touch of resinous pine, slight grassy notes, faintly floral, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

T: Bright juicy citrus leads the way, tangerine and lemon lime, slowly gives way to an underlying mix of ripe exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, mango, apricot, white grape, guava, pineapple, passion fruit, blueberry, gooseberry, and peach, a little resinous pine, a touch grassy, floral hints, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

M: A bit on the fuller side of medium body, mild yet slightly prickly carbonation, creamy smooth almost chewy, like pulpy OJ.

O: It's not hard to make a tasty beer with a hop combo of Citra, Mosaic, and Nelson, but with them being used together so often it can be tricky to make a beer that stands out. This one absolutely does. It's ridiculously smooth and drinks like a tropical citrus smoothie. Definitely a memorable one.

It’s pale orange color, opaque and hazy. The foam is fine and medium size, lacing well. It smells dank and hoppy, like garden hose, diesel, orange peel and orange juice smell. The beer is full bodied, creamy and smooth. The mouth feel is like marshmallow, soft and pillowy. The aroma is full of orange cream soda flavor, orange juice, mango and pineapple juice, orange peel zest, lupulin tickling, cotton candy. And the beer is also full of Simcoe and Mosaic’s weedy, dank aroma, shows silver tequila, weeds, tobacco, banana peel, pepper aromas. I love this hops mixing profile, it’s full of tropical citrusy and weedy earthy aromas from hops. It’s much more complex than just have Citra’s fruit candy aroma. This is one of the best in this year’s Fieldwork’s hazy IPA.

Sweet orange citrus, tropical hoppy, and hint of dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a well-balanced, orange citrus sweetness and tropical hoppy bitterness. They work together to make a juicy, hoppy, citrus bitter finish that is enjoyable on the palate. This has great depth for a single and is nice and soft. This is good!
