Sweet chocolate and roasty chocolate nose on this one! Taste follows with some sweet chocolate maltiness upfront...and then a hint of vanilla and chocolate bitter finish. Untappd says it is a strong ale, the can says it is an "anniversary" ale, but it tastes like a slightly disjointed barleywine/imperial stout hybrid. It says that it is a blend of non-barrel aged and barrel aged beers...I think they over did it just a bit with the non-barrel aged components IMO. I mean...you have to dig deep to find some barrel notes here. This is drinkable and decent...I'm just a little disappointed overall I guess.
