Originally brewed for a tribute event honoring our dear friend Mike "Tasty" McDole, we were instructed to brew something incorporating techniques inspired by Tasty; and to no one's surprise, the beer came out remarkable with a completely unique profile that sets The Lucky Ones apart from the rest of our IPAs. Mixing the two most legendary Westcoast IPA hops, Simcoe & Amarillo, alongside some delectable Nelson hops makes for a rocketship of citrus and tropical fruit that sends your taste buds into the stratosphere. With a substantial mouthfeel and restrained bitterness, The Lucky Ones is a DDH Westcoast IPA that doesn't rip apart the pallet and rains down flavors of ruby red grapefruit, passion fruit, pomelo, sauvignon blanc grapes, diesel fuel, peach skins, pear juice, gooseberry, lychee, and generic tropical fruit salad.

On tap at Out of the Barrel
A: Pours golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Herbal slightly dank, resinous pine, citrus zest, underlying tropical and stone fruit, floral, a little classic Nelson white grape and gooseberry, biscuity bready malt, and just a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Resinous, pine and citrus zest, grapefruit, lemon, and orange, fruity side slowly emerges, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, peach apricot, white grape, gooseberry, herbal slightly dank notes, a touch floral, biscuity bready malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Damn good Westy with a great backstory. An appropriately Tasty tribute.
