DDH Westcoast IPA with Strata, Simcoe and Mosaic hops.
If ever there was a Westcoast IPA 2.0, it would surely be Blue Roofs. With its heart and soul firmly planted in the San Diego IPAs of yore, Blue Roofs takes a hard detour by going full double dry-hop, utilizing Mosaic and Simcoe cryo (essentially hop keef), and keeping its strong bitterness in line with a more full body and overall juicy profile. Adding in some Strata to the hop mix just makes this new school Westy even more juicy and tropical helping it ooze with notes of passionfruit, white grapefruit, blueberries, raspberries, pine needles, sweet melon, strawberries, and insanely high grade PNW Kush.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a fine, two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus, dank and a light piney hops, grapefruit, light mixed tropical and light stone fruit, some some catty dankness. Flavor follows, with caramel malt, citrus and dank hops, herbal dankness, mixed light stone and tropical fruit, grapefruit, lemon and some piney resin in the finish. Pleasant West Coast level bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Seems very much like the profile of the 8x8 I had from Fieldwork last week, with the hybrid West Coast and NE hop selection, but with a satisfactory level of bitterness. Once again, I like the herbal hop flavors, but can taste the softness of the cryo hops. Both have had a somewhat pale look to them, but had a pleasant malt depth with some caramel, which I'm a fan of. It seems like I may well like the flavor of hazy NE IPAs, but the lack of bitterness is the major factor they leave me unsatisfied. I've been quite happy with both IPAs from this brewery and will definitely be watching for them in the future.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a nice layer and laces beautifully.
S: Mix of zesty citrus and resinous pine, slightly dank herbal notes, underlying tropical, stone fruit, and melon, bready malt, and just a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Resinous pine, slightly dank herbal notes, zesty citrus, grapefruit, lemon, and a touch of orange, underlying tropical and stone fruit, papaya, apricot, mango, passion fruit, under ripe strawberry, blueberry, and melon, bit floral, bready malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
M: A touch on the fuller side of medium body, moderately lively carbonation, crisp yet kinda chewy.
O: Another really solid Westy from Fieldwork. I could swear there's a faint smokey note buried in there, but that's not gonna stop me from enjoying it.

Can dated 04/06/2022 into a Willi Belcher glass.
L: Pours vibrant copper with 1.5 fingers of variable density white head with moderate retention and left several thick lacing rings.
S: Floral forward, tropical fruit undertones. Some subtle citrus once it warms.
T: Follows the nose very well, more prominence of the citrus and tropical aspects. Finishes with restrained moderate bitterness, that lingers pleasantly.
F: Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation, lively on the tongue, slick on the swallow.
O: Digging it, really nice modern WCIPA.
