Misunderstood, regionally unique, whatever it is, the Bock Lager takes all sorts of form from country to country. However, if you ask us, a Bock has got to have some heft, some size, some weight; they should be groß, not gross. For Before & After we harken back to a traditional German Bock, making an oversized Lager that is packed to the gills with German malts, cramming this mildly sweet semi-dark Lager full of bright caramelized malty aromas, hints of dark plum fruit, intense toasty malt character, and a finish of light roast and cocoa powder. At the end of the day, all Bocks are awesome, whether it's smashing Super Bocks on the beach in Lagos, or relishing in the perfection of Celebrator in Bavaria, these malt monsters are possibly the most underrated of all Lagers.
